Functionality of Cloud Storage Services

Provider of cloud services are booming and enjoy a high demand. I would like to describe briefly how these cloud services work and which providers currently available on the market, but rather I will go to the private use of these services and describe especially the now very popular cloud storage closer.

Funcionamiento de la nube
The data is stored centrally on the cloud server and the registered terminals such as PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone using this information synchronized. Changes to documents either directly via a web browser in the cloud or on a terminal, so the changes are reflected on all devices used which ensures consistent data. Also you are in the event of data loss optimally protected.

Why Online Cloud Storage?

A key for storage in the cloud is the storage of personal information and documents. By saving on the servers of a provider you are as protected in the event of data loss (PC faulty, stolen laptop, etc.) and may at any time access to the data. Similarly, all used devices such as PC, laptop and smartphone are synchronized with the service and has on all devices the same data, one adds or deletes documents added that, so is it propagate to all devices.

Before using a service for the storage cloud should pay attention to some things, this includes especially the data security. Since the password is stored in most services directly offered, these also have access to this information and can therefore possibly reset the forgotten password. For example, even government organizations on request in certain cases get access to the data, even if annoying user and account data will be lost offered as a few years ago, for example, happens with Dropbox. However, to my personal favorite Wuala, a Swiss provider of online storage is one in which the data is encrypted on the client side and the password never leaves your own computer, so also the forgotten password also are no longer reset and in these cases is no access to the account longer possible.

The most important providers for private use of the cloud

Meanwhile, every major software vendor has a solution for online storage. These range from Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Salesforce via the Deutsche Telekom at special storage providers such as Dropbox or Wuala. The services work principle, similar to and in addition to the online storage, programs and clients for various operating systems and apps for iPhone, Android devices and BlackBerry. Most provide some memory free, if this is not enough (usually relatively cheap) further storage be extended with costs.

Cloud Storage Enrcyption – how to protect your data in the best way

Storing data in the cloud is unencrypted, in most cases, which means that people who access the online stores have this view, change, or delete it. Some providers such as Wuala cloud or offer of safe house already an encryption on, if someone gets access to the memory unjustified so he can see only cryptic content and do anything with the data. With other providers, the files will be encrypted before being transmitted to the cloud, but there again stored unencrypted and can be viewed by strangers (by authorized or unauthorized access).
